diy floating shelves

i know you are normally supposed to have an odd number of shelving buttttt we decided we only wanted two shelves for the kitchen. i wanted butcher block shelving somewhere in the house and  i am so glad we used them in the kitchen.

reed made these shelves by purchasing (3) 1x4's at 8ft long, a sheet of plywood 1/8 of an inch thick, 2x6 board (for backing of shelves), finishing nails, wood screws, dark stain, and polyurethane satin finish.
he whipped these up in no time, and we love how they turned out!! you can also add your dinner dishes & bowls or whatever you would like.

paw was also a big help,as you can see.
happy diy wednesday!

  5. Such racking overwhelmed most libraries around the globe. Wood shelves are liked in settings where there is no compelling reason to as often as possible move things. They are solid, strong, tasteful and customary in appearance. boltless rack klang
