Travel: A New Family Fall Tradition

Happy Wednesday! The week is flying by, and it before it does I wanted to share our new Family tradition I started this year. I made our own "Family, Fall, Fun, Festival" and the family really ran with it! haha I love gatherings like this full of fun, food, and activities. My grandparents just built this  patio addition onto their house and we all wanted to break it in. They are always wonderful hosts and really enjoyed our new family tradition. Here is a little bit about our festival and some of the things my family ate and did:

Here is what was on the menu:
-apples & carmel
-hot apple cider
-potato soup
-veggies & dip
-mexican dip
-s'mores
-pumpkin pie
-chocolate cake
-biscuits & apple butter
-cookies

The activities included:
-checkers
-mallow roasting
-pumpkin painting
-ghost stories by the fire

We had the best time at our Family Fall Fun Festival :) Thank you to my family members and grandparents for making this happen! I knew you would all enjoy :) I hope this inspires you to create your own festival with your loved ones. If you can't attend a Fall festival together this year, then why not coordinate your schedules and make your own! Creating memories by the fire and sharing time with loved ones is always the most important part! Happy Fall and I hope you all enjoy!

Travel: Indiana Pumpkin Pickin

Hi Everyone! Happy Monday! Reed and I had a great weekend back home in good ol Indiana this past weekend. While Reed had a relaxing guy day, my mom and I decided to head to the local pumpkin patch/market to pick up some pumpkins. We went to Sandy Ridge which is in Oaktown near Sullivan and the Vincennes area of Southern Indiana as well as the big peach as well which is in the same area. We thought it would be fun to share a few pictures of our Saturday morning.  Sandy Ridge was such a great place to visit and the sweet couple that helped us pick out the best ones and load them in the car for us. I can't wait to share with you later in the week- our new family tradition that I started this year. More coming later this week! I had a great time and it was a perfect October Saturday morning! Enjoy the Fall and Pumpkin views :)

Next time you are in town, you should make a visit :)

Recipe: Trader Joe's Gluten Free Pumpkin Muffins

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all having a great week! In the season of everything pumpkin, I wanted to share an amazing gluten free pumpkin bread mix that I recently purchased at Trader Joe's. It's funny, I had several people message me asking me for the pumpkin muffin recipe from my blog post picture on social media earlier in the week and I told them I would post it, but surprise!! It's the easiest recipe ever, and from a box haha!

Normally, I love baking things from scratch- it's that excitement and thrill of trying something new and creating something homemade that makes it wonderful; however, every once in a while I will try a box to see what it tastes like or for something new. In this case, I am glad I purchased this box because I will be going back for more. You can make muffins or bread out of this mixture. I sprinkled cinnamon on top to give it more of a cinnamon taste when you bite in and I love how good these are! Happy Fall, Happy Pumpkin Recipe, and Happy Baking :) Enjoy the easiest recipe I will ever post haha :) xo

Here is what the packaging looks like so you can look for it:

Trader Joe's Gluten Free Pumpkin Bread & Muffin Baking Mix is easy to make (add egg, oil & water, mix, and bake), and even easier to eat.

Home Decor: Fall Kitchen Details

Hi everyone! Happy Monday, what a great weekend it was. Reed and I had a great relaxing weekend that started with scary movies and dinner at home on Friday, which was so nice. On Saturday, it was a productive day of getting things done and then we had Fall family pictures that evening followed by a date night out :) Sunday was wonderful as well with my parents in town for a few days, which is always great! A good weekend is so good for the soul!

Sometimes less is more when it comes to decorating and especially in the kitchen. I wanted to add a little color to the kitchen area but also keep the fall and pumpkin decor going throughout the house. I purchased these solid orange and also blue&white linen napkins last year from Target in the dollar section (score!) and I placed them with a charcoal charger to give the bar area of the kitchen some color. To keep it going with the pumpkin decor I placed a simple white pumpkin at the end of each napkin for a little fall touch.

As you know, it always comes down to the details for me. Small details go a long way! :) I hope this post inspires you to create your own Fall Kitchen details in your own home. Have a great day! xo
